In Yoakum, Texas,  down on Front Street by the railroad tracks, you'll find a little tin shed with a horse out front. That's The Tomato Shed! It's open most Saturdays. Come by for a visit!!

Tomatoes, Plants and Soap

In keeping with the tomato heritage of Yoakum, I grow my own heirloom tomatoes. I sell tomato plants and fresh tomatoes in season. I also make homemade tomato soap!

The lycopene and multiple nutrients in tomatoes make it wonderful for the skin. It balances the pH of your skin. It is also good for acne prone skin. The main ingredients beside pureed tomatoes is olive oil and coconut oil. I add different essential oils to different batches of soap. I've made lavender, peppermint, sandalwood eucalyptus and lemon. Peppermint seems to be a customer favorite!

Recycled, Rejuvenated and Repainted

The Tomato Shed was green before green was cool!! Our motto is everything looks better with a coat of paint! We take vintage (sometimes discarded) furniture, doors, windows, accessories, etc and breathe new life into them with a little paint and some upcycling.

Windows become message centers, old cabinet doors become chalkboards, even old fence becomes signs. You never know what you may find at The Tomato Shed. I love to collect vintage things that have a story to tell..........and help them tell that story! I don't see 'used', I see loved. I see family. I see a life well lived, and not yet over.

Workshops

Want to find something fun and unique to do? In the spring and summer months, The Tomato Shed hosts little workshops. We have learned how to make chalk paint, distress, embellish and have LOTS of fun! We welcome you, your friends, and have hosted bridal showers and birthday parties. The best part is you get to take home a useful and fun vintage project you created!

Workshop notifications are found on The Tomato Shed facebook page. So be sure to like the page, or be friends with someone who can like the page!
